Turtuk Valley School

Mrs. Sarah Shah

AFAC English School and Junior college today stands proudly as one of the best schools in Chembur after having had a humble start fifty years ago. The credit for this being, the efforts, guidance, and motivation put in by the able principals, teaching and non-teaching staff of the school. I hope to take the tradition forward in the years to come. True to its name, Academy of Fine Arts and Crafts, the school has been encouraging students to bring out their best of talents. This has helped to secure 100% result in Intermediate Drawing Exams, Awards and Prizes in science Exhibitions and also in M-ward competitions such as Folk dance, Instrumental music, Singing, Lezim, Elocutions and so on… Various workshops that are conducted time and again help students in achieving all-round development. These workshops are held in the coordination with NIE, LAKSHYA, Bramhavidya, Sanskar Bharti, Nehru Science Centre, National Olympiad, NMMS and NTS regularly in school. The school also encourages sports activities and students have won laurels in Karate, Kho-Kho. We have also started football.
The school has highly qualified, competent and responsible staff. Many of our teachers have been appointed as Examiners and Moderators at Secondary and Higher Secondary Board level.
When a team has a strong and able leadership, nothing can stop it from going on the path of success. This leadership, I hope to provide as the Principal of the School and Junior College with added responsibility as a council member of Headmasters’ Association (Secondary and Higher Secondary) at the state level.
A special mention has to be made about the guidance provided by our General Secretary Mr. Jitendra Mandlecha and the support given by our parents. With such support, the school will meet great heights in the years to come. “There are many miles more to sweep; promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep, miles to go before I sleep…”
